Edu638 Student quesiton answer

Students using technology in the class can reach a variety students at a wide range of learning and interest levels. I think most any unit can be taught using some type of technology if there is a proper plan. It was interesting to see kids talking so smartly about how technology has helped them make learning more fun. An interesting comment by one student was having less of a battle with students to get them motivated to learn. It's amazing to me more so than the students to hear them talk about the names of programs that I have only just learned about in small bits and pieces. But this technology is something these kids have experience working with and use this type of language in everyday talk. KEVIN MORROW

Multimedia Project Technology as a tool

I agree with many parts of this artice. I am a firm believer in hands on learning. I would much rather learn something by doing it rather than to sit and listen and then try to duplicate from memory what I was suppose to do. I can relate to the analogy of fixing a car or building a house. These types of project promote true learning. These types of project also produce true failure, things often go wrong while fixing the car, as the fixer you have no choice but to try to solve what went wrong if you want the car to work again. Student centered hands on learning projects used in the class would definitely promote real learning, but to find projects across the curriculum grades k-12 with every teacher on board teaching with hands on projects in every curricular area would be a huge task...and for many students failure of the project means the car will still work. I MOVIE 9-19-05

I can see Imovie being a powerful tool, I only hope I am able to learn these techniques in the short amount time we have available as to become a profictient I movie user. And also find ways to use I Movie with what I teach. KEVIN MORROW

EDU 638 kidsperation/photoshopelements

I have used kidsperation before but have only toyed with photoshopelements. I can see why many people could be inspired with the features this program has. It can see this being used in a gifted setting with students who are really trying to think out of the box. I only wish there were more in an educational day to use all of this new stuff. KEVIN

Class 9-5-05 power piont

I have used power point several times in the past, but as of lately I have not used it a lot. I do have my sped students do a power point each year as a part of a project they have to do in Frontier History. I hope to continue with some type of power point project and hopefull expand upon the project with uses learned in this class. I am pretty familiar with power point and the basic things it will do, I just need to refresh my memory and try a few new things perhaps with video. KEVIN
